01

Only what we need

Your email, and your name or phone when a form asks for them, so we can send what you requested, answer you or ship your book.

02

Never sold

We do not sell your personal information. Trusted providers process it for us, and only to run this site and our emails.

03

Your call

Marketing emails are opt-in and easy to leave. Cookies for analytics and ads can be switched off at any time.

Who we are

This website is operated by Pete Sacco Ventures ("we", "us"). We decide how the information described here is used, which makes us responsible for it.

What we collect

What you give us

  • Contact details: your email address, and your name or phone number when a form asks for them. Phone numbers are optional unless a form says otherwise, and we do not send automated text messages.
  • What you send us: the topic and message of a contact inquiry, and the event or resource you signed up for.
  • Orders: what you bought, the amount, and a shipping address for physical books. Card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers.
  • Your choices: whether you asked for marketing emails, when you confirmed or unsubscribed, and your cookie settings.

What we collect automatically

  • The page you submitted a form from, the page you first landed on, and the site or campaign that sent you (for example a newsletter link or an ad's campaign tags).
  • Ad click identifiers from Meta or Google, when you arrive from one of their ads and advertising cookies are allowed.
  • Your browser type and an approximate country. We keep your IP address only as a one-way scrambled code used to stop abuse, never the address itself.
  • How pages are used, through the analytics described in Cookies and advertising.
  • When advertising cookies are allowed, visitor-identification tools may match a visit from a business network to publicly available company information.

How we use it

  • To give you what you asked for: email the free EPUB of The Bridge, assessment links and reader resources, and unlock supplemental content.
  • To answer you: reply to inquiries, speaking requests and support questions.
  • To fulfil orders: process payment, deliver digital files, ship signed books, and handle refunds.
  • To keep in touch, if you agree: reading notes, practice ideas and occasional offers. See Emails and your consent.
  • To improve and measure: learn which pages help readers and whether our ads reach the right people.
  • To keep the site safe: prevent spam and abuse, and meet legal and accounting duties.

If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, we rely on these legal bases: performing a contract or request you made (resources, orders, replies), your consent (marketing emails, analytics and advertising cookies), our legitimate interests (security, understanding our own site), and legal obligations (tax and accounting records).

Emails and your consent

Emails you request, such as a resource download, an order confirmation or a reply to your inquiry, are part of the service and are sent whether or not you subscribe.

Marketing emails are optional. Most of our forms ask you to tick a box and then confirm by clicking a link in an email before anything is sent. The footer newsletter subscribes you directly when you submit it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing does not affect the resources or orders you already have.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We use these providers to run the site, and they process it on our behalf:

ProviderWhat for
SupabaseOur database: contact, inquiry, subscription and order records
VercelWebsite hosting and privacy-friendly page statistics (no cookies)
ResendSending emails and keeping subscription preferences
StripePayments, receipts and order details
GoogleTag Manager, Analytics and Google Ads measurement, when allowed
MetaMeta Pixel and Conversions API for measuring Facebook and Instagram ads, when allowed. When you sign up, send a form or buy, our server tells Meta, with your email, phone and name scrambled (hashed) so Meta can only match them to an account it already knows
LinkedIn, X, MicrosoftMeasuring our ads on those platforms, when allowed
HubSpotRecognising returning visitors and organising marketing contacts, when allowed
Niva AI, id-visitors.comVisit tracking and visitor identification for marketing, when allowed
CloudinaryServing images
YouTubeEmbedded videos, which YouTube serves under its own policy

We may also use a customer relationship tool to organize contacts and follow-ups; it receives the same contact details and choices described here, and is bound by the same limits. We disclose information when the law requires it, and to a successor if this business is ever transferred.

Cookies and advertising

We use a small number of cookies. Essential ones keep forms, checkout and your saved choices working. Analytics cookies tell us which pages help. Advertising cookies from Meta and Google measure our ads and remember which ad brought you here. When advertising is allowed, our server also reports sign-ups and purchases to Meta directly, with your contact details hashed; turning advertising off stops both. The full list is on the cookie details page.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you allow them. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of advertising cookies.

Under some US state laws, such as California's, letting advertising cookies run can count as "sharing" for cross-context advertising even though no money changes hands. You can opt out at any time:

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and give you a copy;
  • correct it, or delete it;
  • stop using it for marketing, or object to other uses;
  • withdraw a consent you gave, without affecting what happened before;
  • opt out of advertising cookies and "sharing" (use the button above, or your browser's privacy signal).

Email hello@petesacco.com or use the contact page. We may ask you to confirm the request from the email address we hold, so we only release information to its owner. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

How long we keep it

We keep contact and subscription records while we stay in touch and for a reasonable time afterwards, so we can honor unsubscribes and answer questions. Order records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. Personal download links for purchases expire after 30 days and can be renewed by the buyer. Ask us any time and we will delete what we are not required to keep.

Security

Records are stored with access limited to authorized administrators, connections are encrypted, and personal pages such as order confirmations and resource libraries are kept out of search engines and analytics. No system is perfect, so please keep personal links to yourself and tell us if something looks wrong.

Children, transfers and changes

This site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

We are based in the United States and our providers may process information in the US and other countries. Where the law requires it, those transfers are covered by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell subscribers by email when a change is significant.

Contact us
